Gujarat Day 2019: How the State of Gujarat Was Carved from Bombay

The States Reorganisation Act, 1956, defined boundaries for India’s states on the basis of languages. Bombay formed under this act was inhabited by Marathi, Gujarati, Kutchi and Konkani-speaking people.
